Strategic Supply Chain Network Design
Supply Chain Network Design
The aim of a strategic network design is to meet with each of these targets:
- Assure that the network allows you to realize your service performance targets, as put forward in the core competence specifications of your business strategy;
- Assure that goods are delivered to your customer in the most cost-efficient way;
- Assure that you comply with regulations.
Our phased approach is structured along the 6 Sigma “Facts and Figures” methodology (Define – Measure – Analyze – Improve). We dispose of various advanced mathematical tools to determine feasible and optimal scenarios for both primary and secondary distribution network designs. The theoretical green field solutions, however, are rarely the final outcome of the exercise. Together with management, a few feasible scenarios, as close as possible to the optimal design, are selected for detailed elaboration. Based upon these detailed impact calculations (cost, working capital, investments, …), our joint teams decide on the preferred scenario. In the last step, we jointly detail the implementation plan.
